Acrylic case for a One Piece display: how to choose the right one
· 7 min read
Dimensions, acrylic thickness, UV protection and magnetic closure: the genuinely useful criteria for choosing suitable protection for your One Piece display.
When looking for an acrylic case for a One Piece display, all protectors can seem similar. Yet a few criteria make a real difference: internal dimensions, acrylic thickness, UV filtration, the closure system and compatibility with the exact display format.
The goal is not to choose the most imposing case, but protection suited to the display you want to preserve and exhibit. Here are the points to check before buying.
1. Check the display dimensions before buying
The first criterion is also the most important: an acrylic case must match the display’s actual format. A case that is too small may compress the cardboard; one that is too large lets the display move unnecessarily inside.
In the current Treasure Sealed range, references OP-04 to OP-19 as well as PRB and EB formats use protectors with internal dimensions of 151 × 69 × 123 mm. Compatible French and English editions use the same protection format.
Before ordering, the rule is simple: check the expansion code and the compatibility stated on the product page.
2. What acrylic thickness should you choose?
Thickness mainly affects rigidity. A case intended to remain on a shelf must retain its shape and create a rigid barrier around the cardboard without becoming unnecessarily bulky.
Treasure Sealed cases use 8 mm side panels and 5 mm panels on the other faces, including the lid. This construction reinforces the sides while keeping opening simple and the display clearly visible.
3. Is UV protection important?
Yes, especially if the display is exhibited in a bright room. Printed colours and packaging can be altered by prolonged exposure to light.
Treasure Sealed protectors state 97% UV filtration. This reduces exposure to ultraviolet light but does not make the case an absolute protection: a collectible display must always be kept away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
4. Magnetic closure or screwed case?
For a display that you may want to remove or replace, a magnetic closure is practical: there are no screws to remove and no case to dismantle.
On our models, the removable lid is held by 5 mm N52 magnets, arranged in three pairs on each side. It opens without tools while keeping the lid properly in place during normal use.
5. Acrylic case or soft protection?
The two solutions do not serve exactly the same purpose. Soft protection is mainly useful against dust and light rubbing. It takes up little space and may be enough for simple storage.
An acrylic case adds a rigid structure around the display. It is therefore better suited to keeping the cardboard clean, limiting direct handling and exhibiting the display on a shelf or in a cabinet.
For a visible collection, acrylic also keeps the artwork and seal fully visible.
6. Which case for OP-17, OP-18, OP-19, PRB or EB?
For recent expansions, the choice mainly comes down to the reference. Treasure Sealed protectors for OP-17, OP-18, OP-19, PRB and EB currently use the same standard internal format of 151 × 69 × 123 mm, but each product page remains linked to its expansion to prevent ordering errors.
If you own several displays from this generation, you can keep a consistent presentation while selecting the matching reference for each set.
7. Criteria to check before ordering
- Internal dimensions: they must match your display format.
- Thickness: choose a genuinely rigid structure.
- UV protection: useful for an exhibited collection, but no substitute for avoiding direct sunlight.
- Closure: a magnetic opening makes access to the display easier.
- FR/EN compatibility: check the statement on the page for your expansion.
- Transparency: the case should exhibit the display without hiding its artwork.
- Product page: choose the exact reference rather than a case described as universal.
Our choice for a One Piece collection
At Treasure Sealed, we chose a simple construction: a transparent case suited to the display dimensions, 8 mm acrylic sides, 5 mm other panels, a removable magnetic lid and stated 97% UV protection.
The aim is to protect the display from dust, scratches, handling and small everyday knocks without hiding it or making access difficult. Each product page states compatibility and internal dimensions before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Can an OP-17 case be used for OP-18 or OP-19?
In the current Treasure Sealed range, OP-17, OP-18 and OP-19 use the same internal format of 151 × 69 × 123 mm. We still recommend ordering the reference matching your expansion and checking the product page before purchase.
Does an acrylic case provide complete UV protection?
No. UV filtration reduces exposure but does not make a display immune to light. Always avoid direct sunlight, even with protection.
Can a French and an English display use the same protection?
Yes, for references listed as FR/EN compatible. Treasure Sealed product pages state this compatibility.
Is the display included with the case?
No. Treasure Sealed protectors are sold empty; displays shown in some photos only demonstrate the product’s appearance.
